The SmartEdge® family integrates three key functions into a single, multi-functional platform including edge routing, Ethernet aggregation, and subscriber management. Each of these capabilities is well developed and highly tuned for its specific functional role within the Triple Play network. Building on years of proven deployments, SmartEdge routers can be deployed in a stand-alone role, such as edge routing or subscriber management, or as a unified, multi-function platform that cost-effectively consolidates elements of the Ethernet aggregation network layer.
