Atlas Interactive Creates New Broadband Network in India with Redback SmartEdge Service Gateway Redback and ZTE Team to Provide Smart Broadband Network for Fast Growth and Flexibility

SAN JOSE, Calif., May 18, 2005 – Redback Networks Inc. (NASDAQ: RBAK), a leading provider of next-generation broadband networking systems, today announced that Atlas Interactive India Private Limited (www.atlasgroup.bm), an innovative, fast-growing telecom carrier in India, is creating a new broadband network with next-generation Redback SmartEdge® Service Gateway systems. The network will provide high-speed broadband initially around the Delhi metropolitan area and then expand to other areas within India. Redback is working with one of its partners, ZTE Corporation China, to meet Atlas’ needs, with ZTE being responsible for the supply of all systems for a TVoIP network which will form the foundation for a range of triple play services.
